Ultimate Mai Tai
Kevin Crossman is a fellow colleague writer at Exotica Moderne. He has done extensive research on the Mai Tai and literally travels the world looking for the very best Mai Tai out there. He put together a list of rums to create, the ultimate, ultimate mai tai, and I have to say, if you just follow this recipe it probably will be the very best mai tai you have ever had, at home anyway!
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 ounce Appleton Rare 12 Year
- 1/2 ounce Smith & Cross Traditional Jamaica Rum
- 1/2 ounce Plantation OFTD
- 1/2 ounce Plantation Xaymaca
- 1/2 ounce Climent Orange Shrub
- 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1/2 ounce orgeat almond syrup (Latitude 29 or Liber works well)
- 1/4 ounce rock candy syrup
- Garnish: Mint (it’s a must)
